Following the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between Singapore and Thailand on 20 September 1965, the Singapore Embassy in Thailand was established in 1966.
The Embassy had a humble beginning working out of the office of its first Ambassador, Mr Tan Siak Kew, at the Four Seas Communications Bank before renting a house along North Sathorn Road (No. 90).
The Embassy moved into its permanent home at 129 South Sathorn Road in 1974.
The following Ambassadors had also served in Thailand:
Mr Ho Rih Hwa (October 1967 to August 1971)
Mr Chi Owyang (September 1971 to November 1988)
Mr Tan Seng Chye (March 1988 to September 1990)
BG Chin Siat Yoon (October 1990 to December 1994)
Mr Wong Kwok Pun (January 1995 to December 1998)
Mr Calvin Eu (January 1999 to December 2001)
The current Ambassador, Mr Chan Heng Wing, assumed his post in January 2002.
